The Sanctuary Helfgott Anniversary Concert will be held on Sunday , April 22nd at the Bellingen Memorial Hall (in Bellingen, near Coffs Harbour), starting at 2.30pm.
This wonderful event will celebrate 30 years of Sanctuary’s work, helping refugees from many war-torn parts of the world.
All funds raised will be carefully used to provide direct assistance to needy refugees.
Renowned international concert pianist DAVID HELFGOTT (of the movie ‘Shine’ fame) will be performing the classics, after recent sell-out concerts in Europe and S. Korea.
David will be joined by Rosabella Stephen, trombonist, playing Rachmaninoff’s ‘Vocalize’.
Syrian musician Ali Hasan, former refugee, will perform the beautiful music of his homeland on the tanbur, a classic instrument of the Middle East. Ali’s music is masterful- a poetic expression of love and respect for his country.
After the concert everybody is invited to join David and Ali for fine wine and delicious food, all included!
