Why Refugees Need Donated Laptops

What Kind of Laptops Do We Need?
To ensure that your donation is useful and impactful, we have specific requirements for the laptops we accept:
- Functionality: Laptops should be in working condition with no major hardware issues.
- Operating System: Devices should be no older than 5 years old.
- Specifications: We are asking for laptops with at least 8GB of RAM and a working battery.
- Accessories: Please do not forget to include the laptops power adaptor.

How to Donate a Laptop
Donating your laptop is simple and hassle-free. Follow these easy steps:
- Contact us:
- Fill out our online laptop donation form below to let us know about your device.
- Confirmation:
- We’ll confirm whether your laptop meets the minimum requirements.
- Prepare Your Device:
- Back up any personal data that you want to keep (there are plenty of youtube videos on how to do this and websites).
- Wipe your device’s hard drive to remove all personal information. (We can also do this but it is preferable organisations do it themselves to avoid any security concerns).
- Make sure to remove your password from the device.
- Drop Off or Ship:
- Call us to drop the laptops to us in Coffs Harbour on (02)6652 2127 or use our contact form to email us.
- If you wish to ship laptops to our office address, it would be most appreciated if you are able to assist or donate the cost. If you are not able to please let us know.
- Get Your Receipt:
- As a registered charity we can issue a tax-deductible donation receipt to the value of the laptop/Macbook.
